| that need fixing. I'm just saying that when you live here all your life and there are certain things that make no sense, you're taught that "that's the way it is" or "that's the way it has to be". Yet when you travel somewhere far away you see that in fact it's not the way it has to be, because other people are doing it differently, in a way that seems more realistic. For instance, when I can hop on a train over there that goes 186 mph and take it across the country for $40 each way, there's no reason why it should cost me $230 to take a much slower Amtrak train to Washington which isn't even half the distance. In fact, over here I can take an airline for much less money than Amtrak costs. And Amtrak wonders why they have low ridership and are always on the brink of bankrupcy. Also, what's with the speed limits here? In Germany they've had unlimited speed limits for 60 years and people drive responsibly on them. How come lawmakers here claim that everyone would be out of control if they raised the speed limit? In Montana, one of the last free states, they had no speed limits for a few years and the accident rate dropped. It wasn't an out of control free-for-all like some claimed it would. How come it's taking 3 years to fix a small section of road here in NJ? The area is a construction zone with cops pulling people over all the time, but no construction seems to be done. They say "these things take time". However, when the Republican National Convention came to the area, an entire area in Camden was leveled and nicely built back up in a couple of months. I'm glad I live here instead of there, but I do wish some things would be changed to be more realistic. Too much corruption. If any country has the money to build great new things it's the USA, but apparently there are powerful special interests here that are using their influence to keep it the old, inefficient way. I'm sure there is someone out there making tons of money running Amtrak into the ground. I'm also sure someone is profitting very nicely off the purpetual road construction projects and the tickets handed out in those zones. And again there is someone that profitted by getting things done fast and making Camden look nice before the RNC.
